BMW: Z4 CD Changer Installation

I'm trying to install an OEM CD Changer per
http://www.unofficialbmw.com/images/6042EN.pdf. However, on page 3 step 6, I'm
already stuck. It seems it doesn't just simply pull straight out. Is there
another step I'm missing or do I just need a LOT of force. It seems like I'm
stressing to the point the plastic would crack or bend.
