Not valid for E30. Here you have to release the top roof hooks at the front
window frame first, then push the roof up, until the front part of the roof
stays up at a 30 deg. ankle. Then you may push the button. This works only
if the car is standing and the trunk lid is closed.

I fixed it.....apparently the "put the top down switch"
doesn't work....took it to the dealer today and the
service department was closed (saturday) and the salesman
said, "it doesn't work". So we tugged, wrenched and
pulled and it finally went down.....more on my Z4 opinion
later....had too many Heineken's now to write more...
