Z3 2001. BMW Canada says 'no' to seat belt extension

    I just bought a 2001 and need a 6 inch seat belt extension. I'm a pretty big
guy and it's real snug across the neck.

I called BMW Canada and they said there is no such extension available for the
Z3. If I can get one for my GMC and also for my Toyota (both at no cost to the
owner), I'd imagine BMW also has such a beast.

Does this mean that fat people or pregnant women should not buy BMW's ? Does
anyone know if there is such a part, and its number, or was the person correct.
I called both BMW Canada and a Parts department at a dealership and got the
    same answer.

    Thanks,

Ever thought about going on a real diet?

Remember fat on the outside fat on the inside especially around the heart and
cholesterol clogs up your heart and arteries or do you just want to try and kill
yourself in the BMW by driving fast and losing control because you don't fit the
    car?

Ok so I am being RUDE but it true isn't it?

In 95% of the cases: yes! For the other 5% it can be caused by thyroid (or

    really is the beer.
My option would be to call BMW USA, they must have the extensions or else
they miss out on half the market here!

You can get them through your BMW dealer - just unscrew an arm and a
leg and it's yours! It's not a freebie like it is on American or
Japanese cars. I've forgotten what I paid for my wife's (and the
invoice isn't handy), but it wasn't cheap.

    Hugh,
Thanks for the response. I was hoping it would be more on the lines of getting
an extension, but you chose to target my obesity instead. Yes, I am on a real
diet and making good progress. I don't think anyone wants to die really, and I
want to be able to wear the seatbelt at all times, not just when driving fast,
and I certainly don't want to lose control.

Thanks for the replies Gents. I'll try BMW USA for the extension.

    Much appreciated,
