Corvette: Z06 bottle status

Z06 bottle status
Z06 is back from the GM dealer. The problem were the o-rings; which some
folks guessed. There was a tech bulletin on the tranny leak, apparently;
which some of us already suspected. Car went to the performance shop for
the ground problem, to add the MSD window switch, flip the bottles
sideways, add O2 sensor spacers, colder plugs yet again, and to flip to
the 250 HP nozzles. So, this Saturday if the weather holds and everything
is done, I should have some track numbers (and yet another loss in my
bracket - hahahaha) to report back to the group.
Later today I will be getting a 1971 RoadRunner rolling chassis. Next step
is either a 426 Hemi crate motor, or a 500 quench chamber crate motor.
Jeggs Online has both, though the 500 is almost half the price!

for
everything
step
Hobbes, never mind the 426 Hemi. Check out the new crate 528 Hemi!!! 610
horsepower and 650 ft.*lbs. of torque! That will scoot the RoadRunner down
the road. :-) Here's a link with some dirt on the engine:

I want to drop it into the RoadRunner without having major issues with a
profound weight difference from the 440 that is in it now. I think I will
go one of the following 2 ways:

The only problem with both of these motors is that they are carbed, and I
want to build a fuellie so I do not have to stress out about keeping the
carb tuned correctly.

The 528 Hemi runs aluminum head for lighter weight, but if your heart is set
on a 426 Hemi, there's always Keith Black!*grin*

I'll have to check that out. I will probably do that 500 though, and get
some gear reduction timing. I also need to find a good fuellie system for
the engine. This coming week is the final week for NHRA at my track, and
then I have about 5 months to build the new monster. That and possibly make
my Z06 a bit more psychotic.

Re: Z06 bottle status
When you give it the 250 h.p. shot....listen for engine noises and let
me know if you hear any. ANd, also make a note of what rpm you injected
the nitrous.

You really can't hear anything. You have your car exhaust wailing, NHRA
says the window has to be up, and you have another car along side of you.
I am adding something called an MSD window switch. It has special resistors
that you insert, like the new style fuses to some extent. They just plug
in effortlessly. Those resistors tell the system what RPM to turn on, and
what RPM to shut off. I have mine set for 3,000 on and 6,000 off.

Well....in that case....just tell me if you do some serious damage to
your engine or trans.
