I am planing on buying a 4x4 before summer, and i have been looking at
the Xterra 2000 to 2003 and the Landcruiser 1995 to 1997.
I really like the looks of the Xterra, so i would like to hear from
owners on how
they like them and is there anything i should look out for.
Thanks for the help

Xterras are nice. However, they're quite a bit different than
Landbruisers. They're both great 4x4s, but the Toyota is bigger and
will have a more luxurious interior. It can also tow more than can an
Xterra, and will probably get poorer fuel mileage.
The Landcruiser is a good vehicle, but over the last 10+ years they've been
built more for luxury than 4X4 utility. Ex-girlfriend had a 97. Drank gas
like it was water.
I don't own either, but if I were in the market for a 4X4 SUV, I'd buy an
Xterra or a 4runner.
Just my 2 cents.

net says...
Just got a 4x4 super charged Frontier for myself and an Xterra for my wife.
2WD but it really drives nicely. It has a really tight turning radius and
drives like a tall car. She love sit and I enjoy driving it as well. Can't
speak for the off road side however.

I remember the old days when you'd be pound driving one across the

Is she OK ?
I have a 2001 Xterra and I have been in love with it since day one. However,
all good things must come to an end as I will be trading it in this month
for a Titan...I'm going to miss it though. Great vehicle.

I just purchased a 2003 XTerra in October and love it so far. My list of things for the dealership to fix is blank so far. Only problem is that gas mileage is on the wrong side of expectations. 19 to 20 mpg! Its fun to drive and loves mud.
I hope this helps.

Actually that is good. I can only manage 17 in my Frontier.
