Jeep: Wrangler Heater/Defrost Vents

Wrangler Heater/Defrost Vents
Pardon the dopey question,
My 2000 Sahara lately seems a litte cool around the feet on
cold days,
The floor vents are blowing heat but nowhere near the gale
that I'm used to--and
I've noticed that the defroster vent on top of the dash is
blowing air all of the time
on any heater/defrost setting.
I'm thinking that the defrost door is stuck open or
something. Next time you're in your Wranger,
could you check and see if the defroster vent blows air on
any setting?
Anyone know if these doors are air actuated? I looked
around but could find any hoses.
Thanks
Tony

Re: Wrangler Heater/Defrost Vents
I bought a used 2001 Wrangler and found the same problem. It was under a 90
day warranty, so I took it back to the dealer. It was some sort of vacuum
switch under the dash. They replaced it and now it is fine.

Re: Wrangler Heater/Defrost Vents
i have a 2000 tj that doesn't blow out the defroster on any setting but
it does blow heat out of the little vents by the door on every setting
hope this helps

Re: Wrangler Heater/Defrost Vents
Mine did the same, blowing out all the time from the defrost vents.*
There is a small check valve in the vacum line under the hood on the
firewall/dash that was stuck open.* Once it was free to open and close,
the problem fixed.* Maybe this will help.
