    Winter Storage

This is my first winter with my 1987 coupe, and I was wondering if you guys
could tell me the basic steps required to get it all winterproof and ready.
I do have a garage to store it in but it sadly isn't heated. Thanks for any
    help!

    My way

wash it, fill up the fuel tank & add a fuel stabilizer, disconnect the
battery & cover it. check tire pressure once every 4-5 weeks. In spring
reconnect the battery and the car will start with no problems.

    Good Luck

    Ric,

In addition to the above post, change the oil, the filter, put steel
wool in the exhaust outlets to keep mice out, put the same in your air
intake, put a plastic sheet under your corvette to reduce moisture
buildup, check your antifreeze level, move your car back and forth 1-2
feet each week to avoid a flat spot, take your car out to get it FULLY
warmed up when roads are good, put moth balls inside your car to
eliminate bad odors from it sitting a long time and to keep bugs out,
oil the door hinges, spray silicone spray on the rubber
bushings/grommets under the car, use a breathable car cover ... but wash
    your car first.

I think its good to use an Oil Dipstick Heater in your engine for about
1 hour before starting up the engine ; it will lubricate better when
    first started.

Ecklers and Corvette Central Sell a battery disconnect switch. Takes all of
about 5 minutes to install. It's less wear & tear on the terminals & cables
to just turn the switch off in the winter and then back on again in the
    spring.

    Re: Winter Storage

The battery quick disconnect is a great idea, I use one myself and it has
saved the battery if you insist on leaving it in the car. You might
consider putting a charger on the battery once a month. Also, I don't know
about the '87 model but even with stainless sleeved calipers I have seen
recommendations to tap the brake pedal every 2 weeks to reseat the seals and
keep the calipers from beginning to weep.

    Rick.
Bring it to my home in Florida only joking. But i would put a gas stabalizer
and and change the oil. Also would start once in a while.
