Window Rubber thingys....
Ok, so I'm going to do my best to describe these to you. it's the piece of
rubber that sticks up over the very bottom of the driver/passenger window.
It looks like a flap. Mine has a bunch of chunks missing from it on the
passenger side. is this what I'm looking for to replace it?

Thanks,

Well there's two. One on the inside and one on the out. If what you're
talking about is on the outside of the window, yes. If not, no.

Re: Window Rubber thingys....
Rick that is what you need! and here is a link to instructions on how to
replace. http://www.corvettemagazine.com/2000/december/window/windowpg2.asp
Not too hard, just takes a little time and the results are definitely worth
the effort.

I love it when other people use the same "technical terms" that I do...

Re: Window Rubber thingys....
You sure that's the right link? It frightens me when I have to drill new
holes...lol. If that's what I have to do then I guess I'll just do it eh?
Thanks a lot everyone!!

Re: Window Rubber thingys....
They are called Dew wipes. Most likely you can get them off with a bunch of
effort. and the correct tools. Please make sure you get the correct tools or
else you will be cursing forever.

Re: Window Rubber thingys....
Rick, that link just shows you how to take the door panels off, after you
get them off, it is pretty simple to take the old ones off and reinstall,
the hole drilling in that article was to replace the door regulators. I got
my door seals from Zip products and they had good detailed instructions of
how to take the old ones off and do a good reinstall . There are no special
tools required just good common sense and the knowledge of where all the
screws are at and how to take the lock lever off. Very Straight forward,
just take your time. You may need a simple and cheap pop rivit tool, but it
is cheap and available every where.

Re: Window Rubber thingys....
Mine vibrate from the radio.. I'd suuspect they get loose from having my
arm out of the window... One of these days I'll make the effort to take the
door panel apart I guess to get to them properly.

Re: Window Rubber thingys....
That particular link is for replacing the window regulator............
But it will get you to the dew strips. If they are riveted in you
will have to drill out the rivets, and possibly have to pop rivet
the new ones back in.
They might just pop out and back in with clips too. Dunno.
Mine need replaced too. And about every
C4 I've seen are dry rotted and cracked, missing chunks. :-)
