Will a Mopar In-Dash 6-CD system (taken from a Chrysler 300C) fit in a 2001 Wrangler TJ?
Hi All,
I'd like to replace the stock single-CD (no cassette) stereo in my 2001
Wrangler TJ and I found someone selling a Mopar in-dash 6-CD system which
came out of a 2004 Chrysler 300C.
I'd like to find out if anyone knows whether or not this system can replace
my stock stereo.
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!
Dan.

Anything can fit anything, the question is at what cost?
The 300C system likely has an external amp and if it's an Infinity as most
higher end Mopar systems are, it is very proprietary. Most audio guys will
completely bypass a factory system in upgrades. The net result is usually a
better system for less money and less hassle.
I'd recommend an aftermarket in-dash changer such as this:

What's the price on the Nak unit? I can't believe people are still using
multi-disc changers. Get yourself iTunes, rip your discs to an MP3 player
and plug that into your system. It's much more difficult to drive off the
road while playing with an MP3 player than it is changing out six CDs ;>)

This is a Jeep newsgroup, going off the road is encouraged around here!
When I put an audio system together for my van I looked at the Nak MB75 and
it was in the $500 ballpark. I thought of it as a fair value after
considering the cost of a high end deck in addition to a high end 6 disc
changer. I'm sure I would have been happy with the Nak but I opted for a
McIntosh head unit instead.
In-car MP3's? Tally up the cost of the player and accessories, factor in the
substandard audio quality of the music only to be worsened by an FM
Modulator, a buck-a-tune from iTunes and you could quickly justify burning
cda files for playback on your in-dash DVD player.
