Jeep: Whistling noise?
In the last year or so my 03' Jeep Rubicon has been making
a whistling noise when you are in gear and accelerating.
The moment you take your foot off the accelerator the whistling stops.
The sound can not be produced while standing still or idling,
therefore I can't point it out to the guys at the Jeep dealer.
It is also not a constant noise, It only happens when I'm far
away from the dealer and stops before I can get there.
Last time the dealer replace some sort of "throttle position sensor"
and they said that should fix the problem.
Well it didn't make any noise for about two months so I thought it
was fixed but it is back and as loud as ever.
I don't really think the sensor was the problem because the Jeep
has gone for longer periods of time without making any noise.
Any ideas? Thoughts? Suggestions?
