where to get used of reman. vtec engines and trans?

I have an 89 civic, standard 1.8L, 4 cyl, and I want to put a 1.8 vtec into
it. I will need the engine and trans, but does anyone know where I can go to
get one? I was looking at doing this 2 years ago, and found a nice site that
was offering a 1.8 vtec from an acura integra type R, with the trans with
the cpu for $2850.00. I cant find that site, so does anyone know where i can
go to get a similar deal? any suggestions??

    Thanks,
    SUPA

Ebay. There's engine/tranny combos for almost every car.

Either ebay or put in something like "used v-tech engines" in Google or
Yahoo and you'll get a bunch of listings.

    Good luck!

Another option is to go a large car junk yard. Most all of the junk yards
are on a special junk yard computer network and may be able to sell you
the type of engine that you need for a very low price. Many cars are
junked as as result of rear end collisions which means the engines and
engine related parts are not damaged. They usally guarantee the engines.

You should also buy a copy of a magazine called "Honda Tuning" which you
can buy at a magazine store or Barnes and Noble. They usually have at
least one article in every issue about an engine swap. The ads might also
    be of use for you.
