    Wheel Bearings

My 2001 GC Sport had a small wooble in the steering. Thought a bad tire
maybe. Took it to the tire man and he says bearings. Does this sound right
on a dealer maintained van with only 60k on the odo?

    Re: Wheel Bearings

A wheel bearing can go bad at anytime, especially if you hit something or
involved in an accident at one time with that wheel, but most of the time
the complaint is not a wobble but a roaring noise and will normally come and
go as you turn right and left at a cruising speed

Yeah this is something that can happen at any time. I had a 96 Dakota that
had a wheel bearing go out, it had only 40k on the ODO.
Also double check your warrenty, my Chrysler warrenty did not cover front
wheel bearings what-so-ever(but I think that that was on RWD cars). That and
if you are in doubt that, that is the issue have your wheel guy show the
problem to you, or have him save the parts that he replaced so you can check
    it for yourself.
That and isn't that van FWD, if so check the half shafts and CV joints. Just
    a thought...
