What's a good discount on a Legacy Premium SW in Canada?

Automatic Legacy 2.5 SOHC L Premium Wagon MSRP $28,995 in Canada, what's
a good price to aim for when purchasing.

Are there any buyer services for Subaru's in Western Canada, Eastern
    Canada?

If I go the CarCostCanada route to get the dealer wholesale pricing, do
Subaru dealers deal, or do they all claim to be one price rip offs?

    Thanks!!!

    Norm

If you like the car and pay the money happily, how can you be ripped off?

when your mate pays 2k less than you for the same car, you'll feel like a
    tool then.

Dont get it through carcostcanada, my friend used it and it sux. My friend
ended up getting better deal on his own than with carcostcanada. He bought
a L special edition wagon with standard transmission + front hood deflector
for $29500 cdn(everything inclusive). Note, since we live in alberta
we've only paid 7% tax. I dont think it's worth the money to go with
CarCostCanada because half of the dealers dont even deal with them and the
other half just give you msrp -$700.

    Hope this help

I do not mean to brag, but the deal I just closed with a
2004 Forester last week was much better than that.

I'd been talking to the salesman since the 30 August, told
him I'd be buying. He started at Invoice plus 3%. I checked
around and found several dealers that would go Invoice plus 2%,
so when the salesman called on the last days of September, he
    wanted to deal.

I didn't because he didn't have the color combination I wanted,
asked him to see if he could find it. I called him the last days
of October and told him I was in "BUY" mode and asked for
his best price. HE talked Invoice, minus some dollars and
started the "I'll ask my new car sales mgr" game.

I just told him to fax his best deal to me, along with a copy
of the Mfgr Invoice, and I'd decide then.

He came in at Invoice less $500.00 US.

I figured he was getting close to the bottom of his bag of tricks
so I took the deal. Plus he cried that they were losing money, etc.
After the car was delivered, I asked him how much they really
made and he told me that was a close to the profit line he'd ever
seen it, but it WAS the end of the month and they had not yet
    made their monthly goal.

    A serious suggestion:

Apparently that is a very good time to buy a new car!
