    Use of oscilloscope

Does anyone have any information on how to use a lab-type oscilloscope (eg a
Tektronix 212) on an automotive ignition system? I have references that
tell me how to read the traces, but no idea where to find or how to make an
appropriate inductive pickup. Likewise, how does one properly hook it up to
read coil and injector signals -- as simple voltage measurements across the
    device connection?

    Thanks

    Re: Use of oscilloscope

I would think a pick up of a timing light may do the job for the high
voltage line out of the coil, as per injector signal they should be either
5v or 12, so nothing is needed...
signal form, can be found at books in the local librarie I guess...

That's what I've been thinking. Thanks.
