Unlimited - Hardtop or Soft - Top

    Hello,

I am looking to purchase a new Unlimited this week. I plan on adding the
    following options.

    Side Steps
    Auto Trans
    Option group (H)

    Hard Top ?

I live in Eastern PA and the winters get cold. The jeep will be my car from
    November through April.

I was thinking that the hardtop was the way to go, direct from the dealer.
But now I am not so sure. Is it better to buy the Jeep with the soft-top
and install a hardtop later or should I buy it with the hardtop and install
    a soft-top later.

I guess if I bought it today, the hardtop wouldn't be what I want for
goofing around in summer. However is a hardtop necessary for the cold
winters? I have the money to get both tops but I have no idea how much a
pain in the butt it is to swap them out. Also is it easier to have a
factory installed hard top that can be removed to install a 3rd party soft
top, or should I do it the other way around?

Thanks for any and all advice!

    Regards,

    Tom

Get both the hard top and soft top at the same time...

Get the dual-top option. If for some reason you can only get one from the
factory, get the hard top. A new soft top is much easier to get than a used
    or new hard top.
