    Turn Indicator Switch problem

On my '95 540, when I indicate a left turn, all signal lights flash.
Indicate right and it works fine. Took the switch apart thinking it
was just dirty. Cleaned out what little junk was in there and cleaned
the brass contacts where it toggles left and right. Didn't make any
difference. Moved the wires around that go from the switch down the
column to the plug behind the dash but no change. It's gradually over
the last week gone from just doing this sometimes to doing it every
time I turn left. Checked all the bulbs and they're working fine.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

Should have made this clear. Left and right turn indicators flash
    when I signal left.

Wonder if this is a problem with the hazards switch or relay? Also, does
the left/right parking lights function work correctly? Any connection
'funnies' in either circuit might just cause the problem.
