Jeep: Tires .. etc

Tires .. etc
I just picked up a 2002 Liberty Limited. It has all the off road
toys - at least for a Liberty.. skip plates, limited slip, trailer
package and heavy duty cooling. I plan on towing this behind my motor
home. I also plan on doing a lot of running around in the Az. desert -
not anything really heavy but beyond a stroll in the country.. I am
looking for advise on tires. What about oversize... I know I need
strong sidewalls .. kind of tread ??? Remember I still have to be
able to tow it about 10k per year but we love wandering the desert.
Tire noise is not a consideration.
Thanks.

Re: Tires .. etc
I like the Goodyear MT/R's. They do excellent in all conditions, and have a
very strong sidewall. I had a set of 30x9.5 MT/R's on my 89 Cherokee and was
unable to damage them despite all efforts. If there is not all ready an
auxillary transmission cooler, it will help extend the life of your
transmission [if it is automatic].

Re: Tires .. etc
Never had any problems with the MT/R's in the rain, snow, sleet, hail, mud
or any other type of weather or terrain I can think of.

Re: Tires .. etc
My MT/R's on my '04 Rubicon seem to want to hydroplane over anything
larger than a dinner plate. I switched to Interco TrXus and haven't had
the problem since.
