    Tire Sizes

Hello, My 07 Malibu SS uses 2235/50/18's as the stock tires. The only
problem seems to be that there is a very limited number of replacement
tires of that size. However, the next size up: 235/50/18 seems to
have a great number of entries. Assuming that there were no mounting
issues for the wheels, would the extra 10 mm of width have any
repercussions? In the old days, it was always an option to go "one
size up" when replacing tires. Do the same rules still apply?

There are generally no problems in this change. Your car or tire dealer may
have data showing what sizes will work. Other than clearances, the only
other effect would be a slightly higher drive ratio which will make your
odometer and speedometer register slightly low, give you a little less
acceleration, and possibly increase your fuel mileage a tiny bit.
