Toyota: Tail light?

Tail light?
I just got a used 93 Camry. I noticed that when I put my foot on the brake
one of my night tail lights goes out. When I let my foot off the brake, it
comes back on. Any answers?

Re: Tail light?
You need a bulb. The brake light filament is shot.

If the bulb usually gets brighter because it does both stop and tail
duties, but it goes out totally, it's probably an open ground.
Reason: The tail light power backfeeds through the stop filaments
to the ground on the other side, so that tail filament lights up -
step on the brakes, and there's 12V on both sides of the filaments, so
the ground goes away and the lamp goes out.
Either a dirty lamp to socket connection, or the ground wire for the
taillight is making a bad connection where it is screwed to the body.
If you wiggle the lamp and it works right, it's a dirty socket.
