BMW: swap e36 seats

I've got an E-36 (96 328i) with electric sports seats. The driver's
seat is going south (common problem with these cars I'm told - the seats
are flimsy). Is it practical to swap the driver's and passenger's
seats? The main obstacle I fear is the difficult of swapping the seat
controls off of each seat and onto it's mate, so that the controls end
up on the outboard side. Any comments based on experience are welcome.

Have you tried to tighten the mounting screw and assembly bolts? I did this
on my 635 and made a major improvement. My wife's E36 seats are in perfect
condition and have never had a problem. I do tighten the various mounting
bolts around my car over time. I find this helps with long term tightness.
