Ford Mustang: Sunroof or moonroof in '90 GT?

Re: Sunroof or moonroof in '90 GT?
Cindy,
It is referred to as a manual sunroof, as for the rust around the
spot weld, this is common in a car that was not garaged....Grind it down
and repaint it..................

Cool, thanks, Bill. But about the welds. It doesn't suggest the car was in
an accident? I mean, it looks like a blob of stuff, sticking up under the
small bubbles of paint...like it wasn't a factory thing, if you know what I
mean? Or is that just the way it behaves over a thirteen year period?

Believe it or not, quite a few of the factory welds are like this from
the very begining. Ground down, then painted...After many years, they
kind of pop back out in to view. If you like, take some close up digital
pictures of it and email them to me. I'll let you know from there.

Nope, sunroof, moonroofs from Ford slid back in to the roofline,
sunroofs from Ford pop up....................

This roof is of glass and see through. I thought a sunroof isn't see
through...? Or are those distinctions not made anymore?

Re: Sunroof or moonroof in '90 GT?
the "original" Sunroofs (30 yrs or so ago) were a section of steel in the
roof that opened up at the press of a switch.
Then the sliding glass panels came out, and were called "Moonroofs" mainly
to differentiate them from sunroofs.
Since then, there have been many different changes, but Sunroof and Moonroof
are used interchangeably to describe "an opening in your roof " Whether
Power, Manual, or flip-up!
Then again, I could be full of crap
but that's for another discussion !

Nah. The Chief's description is logical and elegant, with the added benefit
of being believable. My Crapmeter barely registered.
