Saab: Stuck Hatch Lock on '03 9-5 Wagon

Group,

This is the fine time the car has seen real winter (handles as expected),
but the hatch lock mechanism in for the wagon lid won't un-engage. The
latch won't close fully.
I'm going to call the dealer and hope to fix it myself over the phone.
Any suggestions? I tried all buttons and latches (at the same time) and
trying to help it open with no luck.

Is the problem the lock? If so, I had a situation with my 99 9-5 wagon
where I simply could not lock the rear hatch. I could not lock it from
inside the car, with the remote, or with the key. Funny thing is that the
car did not lock for about 3 weeks before I took it in to be serviced but
the day I dropped off the car it locked! I had to go back into the
dealership to get my key to unlock the car!

Anyway, the dealer told me that I needed a new solenoid....I think it was
close to $200. However, that was over 8 months ago and it has worked well
ever since. They told me that they lubricated the solenoid. You may want
to try that if you have the same problem.
