And your point is? My answer was to the suggestion that races are
NEVER stopped when it is MS that crashes at the start of a gp and your
answer proves what? That is does? Well who said it never has been
stopped? It seems the world and his wife are saying the race is only
stopped if it is MS and i meerly pointed out otherwise.

your
did your examples where your hero crashed include enough debris on the
track to be debatable as to whether they were stopped or not?
Sundays was debatable as many commentators questioned it, in the past,
races have been stopped for MS to get in a spare car and again the
situation was debatable.

So you think that the race should be manipulated to achieve the "most
exciting" outcome for the casual, uninformed viewer? Well, then maybe
they should have forced JPM to come in during the last five laps for an
unscheduled 60s pit stop or something like that, so that Coulthard might
have had a chance at fighting Juan for the race win? ;-)
Point is that the "red flag" rule only comes into effect when a.) a
driver is injured (wasn't the case here) or b.) there is a dangerous
situation which can only be cleared by stopping the race (e.g. thousands
of little carbon fibre parts on track, or a completely destroyed tyre
wall in a dangerous place, etc. - not the case here, either). The cars
could easily be removed and there were no parts, or at least not that
many, on the track. So there was no reason for the race to be restarted.
Yes, some championship contenders were out of the race. But, frankly,
that was just bad luck for them and there was no reason to *punish* the
drivers who steered clear of the accident. The only chance for some of
the back end teams to come near to the points is if some of the top
drivers drop out of the race. Should they really be denied the chance to
possibly score points just to please the casual TV viewer? And where
does it end? What if Verstappen and, say, Frentzen crash at the start?
Should the race be restarted for them, too? If not - isn't that unfair?
Don't you think the backmarker teams would protest against the race results?

He is not my hero but i am a fan of his wheras you are just a typical
biased F1 'fan'.
If you truly believe Charlie Whiting or the independent race stewards
at races are all for Michael Schumacher then the sport if corrupt at
the core and you should go and watch something else.
