GM / General Motors: Sierra DIC?

I was reading through the manual for a 2004 GMC Sierra and it said that you
could change the alarm and how the keyless entry things work (honk the
horns, light the lights or both) and then it showed how to do it if the
Sierra has the DIC and the buttons on the steering wheel. How are these
things adjusted without those buttons? TIA
