If you're talking about "Rotella", it's engine oil. But it's formulated for
    diesels.

Do you know where to put it ?

    Chief:

You chose me as your enemy because I let you know you were becoming
quite presumptuous about my car restoration, in spite of the several
threads of the care and advice I sought for some of the details. To
some, to ask questions is the evidence that you are a failure. I
would think that those who fear such failure are really that
    themselves.

You have to convince the rest of the room who know my intelligent
approach to my task, that it isn't. The threads stare you in the
face. You only make a fool of yourself, and make yourself appear to
have no real knowledge of car repair or restoration and maintenance.
Your terror at the thought of car restoration makes me think that
    you're new to it.

First, I haven't "Chosen" you as anything, and I don't consider you an
    enemy.

It's not the asking of questions that makes you objectionable, it's the fact
that when several people have made honest attempts to answer your questions
you mis-read the post, and then start making a bunch of childish attacks.

I'm not the only one that has this opinion of you, You've made a fool of
yourself MANY times, and alienated some of the most knowledgeable posters
here. As you state the threads that make that evident are staring you in
    the face!

At any rate, as I said I'm not one to try to start, or fuel flame wars.
Making the comment I did was just lowering myself to your level, and for
    that I am sorry!

    Re: Shell oil

A lot of people have used Shell motor oils for many years..... providing
they are rated for your motor (and I can't see why they wouldn't be), go for
it. Shells only problem is in choosing goofy names.

We get back to the point of pain regarding oils. This is likely a can of
worms best left in the barn..... yes, I would even use SpamsOil (damn...
gettin' sophomoric again) but I would stick with my 3000/90 schedule. As
long as the motor oil meets API qualifications for your motor, there should
    be no problem.

The problems occur (and I'm sure there will be a lot of anecdotal
information surface here) when we try to extend our service intervals with
some misbegotten idea that saving a meagre amount of money over the intended
life span of our car is great. In reality, it boils down to rolling the
dice. Mass produced motor "A" will handle it and come out shining.... mass
produced motor "B" just can't take it and will puke the contents of your
    wallet onto the road.

The only question remaining... as far as the oil changes are concerned - 20%
    off of what?

WHEN I HAD BEEN ATTACKED I ATTACKED BACK.
YOUR EXAMPLE IS PERFECT. YOUR PERCEPTION
IGNORED THE ACTUAL ATTACK UPON MY OWN
    INNOCENCE. YOU PROBABLY MISUNDERSTOOD SOMETHING.

I'm going to look for it and prove it.

Now I remember: IT WAS YOU!: JUST YOU!

You read and disregarded or never saw all my other posts about my
    careful
    restoration job on my mustang.

Your smart assed remarks, filled with disrespect and ignorance were
not tolerated so now you whine and whimper, and say that to face your
own bad character is too low a task. I can understand that.

Sounds like you might be a little thin-skinned for newsgroups..... sit back,
take a deep breath or eight... it'll pass. Nobody said this was going to end
    in a group hug....
