Probably not.
Considering the age of the car, a starter failure is quite likely. Pull
it out and take it to a local electrical shop or rebuilder. They can
test it.

Scoupe stater
How far do you have to tear the car down to remove the starter? Is there a
solidoid? A fuse? My starter just quit working. Even with a good battery.
Turn the key--nothing clutch safety switch is ok. Help Please!

Im pretty certian that it is the starter but looking for advice on pulling
the starter from someone that has done it. It is not reall accesable from
top of bottom without removing crossmembers from below or the intake from
above. Has anyone done this job before?

Disconnect the battery.
Remove the air cleaner.
Remove the two 14mm head bolts holding the starter in.
From underneath:
Remove the solenoid and starter cables.
Try to get the starter around the axle and exhaust. You may need to drop
the exhaust or crossmember to get it out.
