Magellan GPS: Roadmate 1440 auto-power

My Magellan Roadmate 1440 was set to power up with starting my car and power off when shutting car off. It was in the menu when I originally bought it. After not using it for several months, I ran an online update and re-installed it in the same car and power source. Now it still powers off with the key, but I have to turn it on manually each time. Any guesses what went wrong? I suspect the software update.
