Replace Thrust Arm or just the Bushing?

    Hi All,

On my 1989 525i, I'm getting the well known front end clunking noise. I've
determined that it's being caused by the passenger side thrust arm bushing
being worn. My question is.... is it easier / cost effective to change just
the bushing or the whole thrust arm? I know that there could be issues with
just changing the bushing as it has to pressed in. Thoughts anyone?

    Thanks

    Artie

Cheaper to buy the whole unit (pair) with 750i bushes already pressed in.
Often you can mangle the ball joint end just removing the thrust arms anyway
so if you do the whole lot you won't have to worry.
Check the control arms and all other ball joints while you're at it.
