Subaru: replace impreze differential

The diffential of my FWD impreza is on it last legs. Does anyone know
what is involved in replacing it, and how difficult and time consuming
it would be?

I figure I'll let you in on a 'secret' for $19.95 you can get a 72 hour
subscription to techinfo.subaru.com and
download the entire service manual, tech bulletins, etc for your Subaru.
This is the same service manual the
dealers use. It's not a dumbed down, abbridged Chilton's guide. The only
downside is the manual is broken
out into sections, for my 2002 H6 there were 1011 files (~150mb). The
files are all in pdf format and most
are less then 500kb in size. I think 2 were 25mb. It's well worth the 1
hour it took to click on all the links.
