Toyota Prius: Removing Bugs

    Removing Bugs

Waxed my black 2005 yesterday. It looks like new, thanks to finally
removing last summer's bugs from the nose. I'd tried everything I could
think of to get that bug debris off without success. Dealer recommended the
"Gunk" brand of tar and bug remover. It comes in a spray can and sticks to
the surface sufficiently to let it set for a few minutes before wiping off.
I used it one the headlamps too, with no noticeable chemical attack on
either the plastic or the paint. After setting on the bug debris for a
minute or two, it just wiped off.

Thanks for the clue. My baby needs a bath, and this may come
    in handy.

Did I tell you about the spiffy trash can I made out of a Wesson Oil jug?
Fits under the dash in front of the console and locks in place by opening
the front cup holder. Put a roll of gallon-sized liners in your console
(favorite color/scent) and you're good to go.. Only downside is that it
sits in front of the hidden console drawer... you know, Jean, the one where
    you keep your stash.

....or would if I had one. Sniff. What size jug was that?
    Maybe I have something similar....

Aren't we happy to have our Priuses (Prii) now? I'm actually
gonna sell my Passat. (I don't want to know how many 1000s of
$ I have lost by just keeping it.)

Oh yes, that reminds me. I want to write to Toyota and ask
them to PLEASE put a sunroof on the Prius, so one can vent
some of that hot air while parked!!!! Maybe for that 2008
    model...

It was fairly large one that came filled with canola oil. About a gallon I
suppose. Marked it with a pencil, cut the top off at an angle with the high
side away from the console. cut a dip into the low side so the cup holder
unfolds into the dip holding it in place.
