remove house paint off my car !!!
Hi everyone, I drove through house paint (some fuckin' dummy tossed into the
middle of the road) ...it splashed the length of my car passenger-side(front
fender, front quarter, door, rear quarter, rear bumper)- but 'thankfully'
only hitting the lower portion of the car below the weatherstripping ....now
the 'BIG QUESTION' ...how do I remove this house paint-stain off my 2-year
old car paint ????

Hopefully, it's latex, not oil-base.
Run to paint or Home Imp. store, get a pint of "Goof-Off" for latex paint...
if it's oil-based, try charcoal lighter
Either one - test in inconspicuous place... though you should be able to take
it off without affecting your paint.
Or take it to an established (experienced) detailer.

Well.. it's too late now, but most house paint is water-soluble.. so soap
and water would have removed it if washed off before it dried.

Try using a product called Goof Off. The clear coat on your paint will not
soften using mineral spirits formulations such as goof-off and this stuff
really works. Likely as not, the paint was latex and will come off easily.

Re: remove house paint off my car !!!
If the finish is good, automotive soap and warm water should be able to get
it off.
Or use a polishing compound like Meguire's and then
wax it up.

I'LL SAY AGAIN!!!!!!
jim opined in news:com:
1. Bug and tar remover is the same as charcoal lighter but 2-3 times as
expensive
2. GOOF OFF works better if it's latex paint - will soften and remove it
after paint's dried.

No need for foul language.
