    Re: Rattly Liberty

You mean Legacy, Liberty is a Jeep model.
Try some additives such as Lucas engine treatment, otherwise you'll have to
replace the noisy tappet, not so bad to do on a 2.2 (fairly roomy compared
to the DOHC 2.5 L engine).

Live with it, its not doing any harm.
Some ways to minimise it though is to buy some lifter freer from your Subaru
agent around NZ$30 and use some MoterUp - it quite good stuff. They tend to
get noisy about 500km before a service ( a nice reminder to get you oil
changed) and will settle down after a couple hundred km after you change
    your oil.
(i have done 100,000km with intermittent lifter noise)

PS A Legacy is called a Liberty in Australia becouse of some naming issue
    they have with Mitsubishi.

    Rattly Liberty

I have a 1991 2.2l Liberty which has noisy tappets in the left bank. The
car has 90,000kms. I have changed the oil with Havoline 10W-30 after
using Wynns engine flush. The rattles continue what should I do next?.
