Saab: radio manufactureres

radio manufactureres
Hi,
I'm looking for a 'new' radio for my Saab 99 ('83) and I'd like to know
if there are / were some manufacturers who delivered radios to saab in
the early 80s or late 70s...
With best regards from Hamburg

In article <oSVQb.10981$server.ntli.net>,
com says...
My 1985 T16S had a "Saab" badged Clarion radio Cassette in it, with 4
small Philips speakers.

One of the Saab sites has a contemporary brochure up from the early
80s that includes radio options - the Blaupunkt New York is probably
one of the highest rated, though it needs a separate amplifier. Just
fitted one to my '85 car, and it looks *right* in a way that more
modern stuff doesn't. Also a very, very good radio circuit - pulls in
twice the channels the previous RDS-equipped radio could.

Wish I had seen this a couple of months ago. Just fitted a blaupunkt
modena that really is terrible as a tuner. Picks up far less stations
than the cheap Panasonic that I had in previous to the Modena (would
have kept the panasonic but I needed an AUX in option for the CarPC
project I'm working on).
