Hyundai: Question about tire rotation

Brought my Elantra in for a tire rotation and was told that the tread depth
on all four tires was exactly the same, thus wearing optimally. I had the
tires rotated anyway, but I wonder if there was any point? Is it good to
rotate tires even when they do not show uneven wear?
