Infiniti: Q45 master cyl leaking

Q45 master cyl leaking
My 1992 Q with almost 120K miles has a leak at the master cylinder. It appears to be dripping
out at the junction with the vacuum assist. Is a rebuild kit recommended or available from
Infiniti ? They offered to replace the master cylinder with a new one, but at significant
cost. In the old days we would just hone the cylinder, put in new seals, and bleed the
system. Still valid ?

I have a 91 with about 100K miles on it. It started leaking about
80k. Since then, I've gone through two bottles of fluid, and I top it
off every few months when the red light goes on. I can't think of a
compelling reason to do anything else given the great cost vs the low
cost of a big bottle every year, and I keep the bottle in my trunk.
If there's a rebuild kit, I might decide to go through the process
some day if others have a good experience with it. But for now, I'm
just waiting.

After refilling for a year, the pedal finally went to the floor (90Q -
144K miles)...........

Re: Q45 master cyl leaking
Be warned. I had a similar fluid leak on my nissan and though the same way.
pay for front end labor (in my case) or just watch fluids.
ultimately the leaking fluid attacked seals on my front end assembly and it
cost $1000+ to rreplace parts anyway.
pay me now...pay me later deal
good luck
