    Pioneer DEH-P544R Illumination Colour

    Hi,

I've just dragged the above head unit out of a cupboard to replace the
standard fit radio/CD in my Fabia. It's working fine, but I'm sure I
remember that the illumination clour is switchable. I've lost the
manual, so I got a dowlnloaded scanned manual from some dodgy website,
but it doesn't mention it anywhere. Can anyone confirm or deny it, and
if it is switchable, how? It's not in the setup menu.

Try switching the ignition on, turning the unit off using the source
button, then pressing and holding the "function" button. If the unit
has dual illumination, the option should be in the menu that appears.

Thanks. I'll try that, but I have a feeling that's one of the things
I've tried once. Of course, I might not have been doing the right thing!.

I seem to remember something obscure like holding down one of the number
buttons while turning on, but it was a long time ago- I've just realised
that in all likelihood my wife bought it in 1998 or 1999, and the last
time it was fitted was in 2003.

The only thing I found on the web was someone asking the same question!

Damn. I *had* tried that, and the option doesn't appear in that menu.
I'm still convinced that I did manage to change the colour years ago
though. Anyone else got any ideas?
