Lexus: Paint Chips on Bodywork

Paint Chips on Bodywork
Anyone experiencing apparent inferior paintwork on the new Lexus model
RX330? Despite having the added platinum protection, we have a three week
old vehicle, driven on highway only, with more stone chips than our previous
vehicles (not Lexus) over 5 - 10 years. Paintwork seems painfully thin.

Re: Paint Chips on Bodywork
My 2002 was getting eaten up by rock chips the same way. I solved the
problem by having a clear film, manufactured by 3M, installed to cover my
headlights, bumper, mirrors, and hood leading edge. Here is the link to the
product website: http://www.xpel.com Use their dealer locater to find a
local installer http://www.xpel.com/products/zipsearch.asp. This product is
awesome. I don't have any business association with this company or any of
their dealer/installers, I purchased the product as a customer and am very
pleased with it. You can see it on the car when you get within 6 feet or
so, but it's a whole bunch better looking than a black bra strapped on, and
it requires no maintenace.

Yes i did on my 2004 ls430 around grill area, and i have added paint
protection. Did not have this problem with 2000 GS300. I have to say that
i drive the car at v high speed.
