Corvette: OT Rotors

OT Rotors
Help! Somebody must know the answer to this...my daily driver is a 2000
Infinity I-30. I continually warp my front rotors. I know that most of the
problem is my driving "style" and late braking (but so what). Does anybody
know where I can get "super heavy duty" rotors for this car? I've switched
to ceramic pads. They don't burn up like the organic ones did, but it
didn't help with the warped rotor problem. TIA.

Re: OT Rotors
Diode,
The problem is these OEM rotors are obtained from the cheapest, low cost
source that the manufacturers can find. Typically, these are made with
recycled iron in China. The better rotors usually cost 2 or more times as
much as the cheapies, but in the long run are well worth the extra expense.
I had the same problem with my wife's 2000 Malibu. The dealer replaced the
front rotors 3 times under warranty, but within a few weeks they would be
warped again. After the warranty ended, I bought a set of Raybestos rotors
and have had no warping since. BTW, I've read that many warpage problems
arise from improper torquing, so make sure that the lug nuts are being
tightened with a torque wrench (usually ~100 ft-lbs for most sedans)

Re: OT Rotors
Thanks for the info, guys. The slotted rotors look like they'll do the job.
See, I knew you guys had the answer
