Toyota: OT Resolved...Democrats are STUPID

As I remember the ruling, and I would not stake my life on it, what
the Supreme Court said was that the chads were no good but there was
no time for a count under the US Constitution so Bush wins.

Although the current decision favors Davis, by forcing a longer
campaign by his challengers, perhaps the best man or woman will win.

The Supreme Court also ruled 5-4 that the Florida Legislature had stipulated
in law before the election certain deadlines for vote counting and
certification of the election, and the deadlines had passed, and any further
delay would cause the legitimacy of the electors to be called into question
by the Florida State Legislature, thereby throwing the election into the US
House of Representatives (which Bush would have won anyway), or worse if

The US constitution gives the State Legislature the right to determine who
are appointed electors to the electoral college for their state. There is
not even any mention in the constitution of a popular vote required to

is uniform across all states.

Article II, Section 1 of the US Constitution:

"Each state shall appoint, in such manner as the Legislature thereof may
direct, a number of electors, equal to the whole number of Senators and
Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress: but no
Senator or Representative, or person holding an office of trust or profit
under the United States, shall be appointed an elector."

The 9th Cirucuit has THE MOST abysmal record of having it's decisions
overturned by the Supreme court.... on the order of 75% of their
rulings! 9th Circuit has three radical Leftist judges, two
appointed by Clinton and one by Carter. "The Will of the People" is
to have the recall occur on schedule next month .... irrespective of
the ACLU's ilfounded suite.
