Jeep: Old Jeep - blow by

Old Jeep - blow by
Have a 91 4 cy wrangler with 218,000 miles. The blow by through the vent
on top of the valve cover is so forceful that it's soaking the air
filter with oil so quickly that I need to replace it after just 500
miles.
Any quick fixes other than rebuilding/replace the engine?
Thanks

Re: Old Jeep - blow by
Drain all of the oil and just drive on. I quarantee there will be no blowby.

Re: Old Jeep - blow by
Thicker oil. You can also pull the PCV valve's line back to the air filter
and just let it vent into a make-shift can.

Re: Old Jeep - blow by
I agree, try some 15w40 (not 10w40) and that should help some and you
could try a can of motor honey/STP too. 15w40 will flow okay during
winter in a worn engine

Re: Old Jeep - blow by
On my 91, here is what I did, went to auto store and got a crankcase filter
(any one that usually goes through a hole in an air breather housing of an
older domestic car) I then drilled a hole in the jeeps air breather housing
below the air cleaner. I inserted the new crankcase filter into the hole and
reconnected the tube coming from the valve cover to the new filter. I then
plugged the original hole above the jeeps air filter. The air is still being
filtered for crankcase ventilation, but below the air filter.
Try it

Re: Old Jeep - blow by
Not cool becaue you are send more oil vapor and blown by do intake. You
need to try heavier oil to "stem the flow" and not increase the venting.
