    OEM foglamps--should i bother?

ok car was bought used, and altho it should have come with foglamps
(standard on the 325), they are not there, just the plastic inserts. car
is wired, and that originial switch for the foglamps by headlamp switch is
also in place. i'm guessing they cracked or were busted while the previous
guy owned the car. so, the question is, should i spend the 100 bucks to
get myself a pair or forget it? i know, they are for fog use, something
that is rare in smoggy so.cal. but when i'm not on the freeway, i'm on
small town roads, with little traffic, so additional sidespill would be
nice to see joggers and whatnot. as it stands, i think the headlamps need
to be reaimed, they are putting out a lot of foreground light but little
distance throw. once fall rolls around, i'll most likely also
replace the low beam lamps with sylvania xtravision capsules, getting
quite dim with age methinks. comments, etc, welcome.

assuming i do decide to get foglamps, are the OEM ones a good choise (made
by hella i think, the rectangle ones down in the chin air dam) or are
there better ones by marchal/cibie or aftermarket hellas?) under 150/pair
    would be nice.

    thanks for any advice!
