O5 Jeep GC temperature guage off

My new 05 Jeep Grand Cherokee temp reading on the gauage where it show
temp and compass direction is off by 4-5 degrees, too high. Any way to
    adjust it?

I have yet to see one of those temperature sensing devices to be as accurate
as what is being heard on the radio, passing time/temp signgs, etc. Most
of what I have seen has been reading a bit on the high side. Could it be
that the mass of metal is warmer than the surrounding air? Or that somehow
the sensor is protected from true ambient air? Not a rocket scientist here,
but my observations are from six cars in the family with such devices. Now,
I just regard the displayed temperuate as a "guide". Does it really matter
if its 50 or 53? Probably not. I guess we all just like to see things
operate per design. Good luck with yours! Gary

Just do not look at it or turn it off and listen to the radio for the tem if
    it bothers you that much.
