Chevrolet: O2 sensor question

I have a '00 malibu with just over 200k on it. My check engine light came
on and along with that, my car deveolps no power and uses alot more fuel
then usual. I'm thinking i need to replace one, or both O2 sensors, since
I'm attributing the problems to bad mixture control due to a shot O2 sensor.
sound reasonable?
where are the seonsors located? I know one is before and one is after the
catalytic convertor.

Since you rate the distance in kilometers, I presune that you are in Canada.

If you haven't replaced the fuel filter for awhile, that may be the culprit,
which is real cheap and easy to fix. Th increase in ethanol in Canadian
gasoline has caused many fuel filters to plug up, as the ethanol in the gas
cleans out everything in the tank that has built up over the life of the
vehicle.

Also, read the codes. A low-cost Canadian Tire code reader will tell you if
the oxygen sensors have failed.
