Sure John, the snake oil is in your head, your arrogant head!!
because you think you know it all, you failed to pay attention to
my post above. I suggested testing the friction in real life, to
help you understand what you're missing but you don't want to
understand any way. I suggested riding your bike with 20% brake
on, using two tie-wraps to secure your hand-brakes, try and see
how you would feel the friction. That's exactly what people do
today on the road. Just admit it, you are an average mechanic,
or a poor one since you couldn't figure out how to eliminate the
friction in your vehicle, you think that's the way thing ought to
be, but you are totally wrong. You don't pay attention to
    details.

No sir, brake pads may not be your primary problem, there are 4
possibilities that could be happening, see more details on
website. If you think it's easy to back off the brake pads,
please try it yourself, I'm sure you will waste several weeks
before you finally figure out or finally give up. It's not only
on one side! Do you know that your brake pads back off and on
every time you brake? So why try backing off them off any way?

Hey Bill, you are too far from my state, I hope you could fix
your car's friction. After you finally fix it, please share with
the group. Be sure to count the number of turns to make sure you
fix it right, 9-10 turns should be an indication of proper
correction. You will then see a 35% boost on your MPG. Good
    Luck.

Nonsense... friction doesn't account for 35% of the losses of a

Yes it does. We would love to prove you wrong. We asked to
demonstrate our theory to NBC & FOXNEWS, and they ignore us
because of people like you convince them of your own non-sense.
    Here is a fact:

Assuming your car mpg is 25, 25 *35% = 8.75mpg loss of power. We
are not exaggerating like others, so be careful with your math.
I suggest that you try riding your bike with your brake on 20%
and see for yourself. You will get tired quick with this simple
    test.

Further more, could you explain why we are seeing a Mercedes-Benz
on-board computer displaying 37mpg? on a C280 model that is
    supposed to be displaying 21-24mpg.

The phenomena is matching our calculation as shown in these
    graphs:

Explain the inaccurate reading? Perhaps you've tampered with
    it.

Most people can change their existing driving style to
dramatically improve fuel consumption. And people who suspect
they may have been ripped off by snake oil salesmen typically
do so in an attempt to prove to themselves that they weren't
    actually that stupid and gullible.

I don't know what would help you. My 1988 BMW735i gets 17 city and 26
interstate driving 70 to 90 mph. It does a bit better in the 40-60mph range.
Most cars do. But those older ones had a 3 speed automatic. I think mine is
5 or 6 speed. I have a gauge that show mpg second by second. Idling, of
course gives me 0 mph and coasting down from 60 it goes up to mpg. I think
you know all this. My main suspicion might be electronics. Many BMW's are
notorious for crappy electrical systems. Half of my problems have been in
that area. The main dashboard display goes dead once a day and I punch the
hard plastic dash area and I swear it goes back on. They want one thousand
to replace it. Too much. Does the Merc have the mpg as part of its dash or
is it a needle gauge? I also get many beep warnings with "fog light out" or
"oil pressure sensor low" and many others. They are all false alarms. So I
guess the main thing might be to suspect something electronic to be bad and
giving out false readings. I know my car is old, but it runs like a top.
I've been offered many thousands for it because it was a good year. I saw
many in NJ where I lived all my life and now I see them in Florida. My
neighbor has a 1988 Merc but I don't know the model. I'll ask him when I see
him. Good luck, it's a pain to do the electronics. And very costly.
