Newbie needs help fixing '93 taillight

Greetings all - bought a 6-speed '93 a couple of months ago and am enjoying
    it greatly:-).

While washing it the other day I noticed one of the taillights (inner
right) is broken. The light housing piece is broken off at the two posts
that attach to the car body. Up to that point it stayed in place but now
that I have taken it out looking at it, it won't stay put and tends to pop
out and hang towards the ground.

A mechanic friend and I were looking at it at lunch and couldn't see any
obvious and easy way to access the rear mounting screws when replacing it.

My question is, without troubling yourself to go into too much description,
is how does one go about replacing it? Please tell me it is a fairly easy
operation, and just something obvious I failed to notice. I plan on buying
a service manual eventually but don't have one now.

I have the new part and am dying to get my baby on the road again before
    the winter sets in.

    TIA

    Louie

Take off the back license plate and you should be able to access everything
you need to replace it from there, you just reach around and you can do all
    the work that way.

Thanks Rick, It sure looked like the license plate area was sealed off
from the rest of rear of the car, but what do you know, you were right.

If it had been the rightmost light I don't think my arms woulda been long
    enough!

    Regards,

    Louie

On the right-most light I had to go up through the bottom of the car. It
was a royal pain in the ass.

To reach outboard, remove inboard light an go thru hole.

Yep - thats what I figured. Judging from the build quality of the light
housing, they can probably only be messed with so many times before one
    breaks again.

    Thanks for the info everybody.
