Ferrari: The new Superamerica ?????

The new Superamerica ?????
The new Autoweek has the 2006 Ferrari "Superamerica" on the cover. I'm
sorry. I hated the 550 Barchetta and I still do. I've never seen
anything but a gray-haired wannabe-lothario driving one. And now the
new "Superamerica". Not much different, rear sections looks like
steroids were used. YUCK! What a way to fuck up a decent 575M.

I like 'em both - in fact if I won the lottery I might even have a Barchetta
somewhere in my "collection" (though it wouldn't be the first acquisition! I
think its that whole Big front engine V12, open top thang....
I.

Yuck. You guys need to have your heads examined.
What a bummer today - Varsha's voice is a mere croak! That's what you
get from doing everything from Speed News Sunday to F1 to Hooter's
Grandma's Cookies 500 (in the same weekend, usually). I hope he
recovers for qualifying and the Big Show Sunday. He shouldn't be
talking now.
What a weekend ... F1 Indy, Le Mans, even some Grand Am in there. It's
a tradition with me to watch every minute of Le Mans coverage, live.
This weekend Nextel Cup gets the boot.

Since you admit you don't like the Barchetta purely because you
imagine you loath the people you see driving them: What did you do in
the Seventies and Eighties, when every 3x8 came with a unbuttoned to
the waist Quiana shirt and a Mr. T Jewelry starter set? ...And how can
you adore the latter TR, which's greatest claim to fame is co-starring
in one of the lamest TV series ever, alongside two of the worst
actors, and scumbags, to ever claim the avocation?
Much better to embrace the Barchetta and the 3x8 for what they are,
and loath the TR for everything it isn't.

I don't loathe it for just the people that drive, that's an add-on. I
cannot stand the way it destroys the 550/575 lines. It just looks like
a bulging chop job.
Hey, to each his own! I'm just guilty of blasting people over their
personal preferences as the next guy. I can't stand that car, that's
all there is to it - for me.
Thought for sure you'd be at the USGP.

If the USGP were still held in September I would be going.

I'll be there. After four years of working weekends I'm
making up for lost time by hitting every car event I can.
I'm still pissed I can't make the Monterey Historics though.
Maybe next year on that one...
Assuming no catastrophes happen we'll be meeting
up with a certain carbed 308 owner for dinner as well.

Incidentally I like the Superamerica.
It's no Daytona, but I'd drive it.

t'other side of the pond at that time.....
