Dodge: Neon blowing fuel pump fuses

Neon blowing fuel pump fuses
1995 Dodge Neon keeps blowing fuel pump fuses. I replaced it and drove it
back home and it died (popped the fuse) in the driveway. Put in another
fuse.....popped when I put the car in gear. Not going to put in another
fuse at this point.
Is the fuel pump on its way out?? That is what I suspect, but just trowing
it out there to see if anyone else has seen this problem, or could point me
to another viable cause.
Thanks

Re: Neon blowing fuel pump fuses
More then likely the fuel pump causing them to blow, With the age and im
sure the mileage of the vehicle you probably arent really throwing parts at
the car, some things are just due for replacement at a certain time, Replace
the filter also

Re: Neon blowing fuel pump fuses
This is not my car, it is a friends daughters car. She beats this thing
into the ground. I suspect...(based on the way she treats it...and that the
dash does not work among many other issues) she has ran it out of gas a time
or two and put extra strain on the pump. OR since the fuel filter probably
has never been changed...it too may have caused strain on the pump.
Thanks....weather permitting we will drop the tank this weekend

Re: Neon blowing fuel pump fuses
the dash not working is most likely due to a bunch of cold solder joints on
the main circuit board - a real common problem with those.
