GM / General Motors: need help 98 intrigue shutting off.

i have a1998 intrigue with approx. 112,000 miles on it.the engine will shut
off while driving down the road.sometimes you can hold the gas to the floor
and hear a sound like its trying to fight it from shutting off.sometimes
it'll start right back up,sometimes it takes afew hours.the times when
it doesnt start,it sounds like its turning over faster(timing wise).i have a
remote starter hooked to it,and it has a 3.8 in it,its been doing this quite
a bit lately,ive even tried to spray ether in the breather box,no
difference,just keeps turning over.thanx everyone.
