    NAVTEC problems with latest updates

I received new NAVTEC Cd's in the mail. Many streets are missing on the
map including some major ones. I am looking at the Eastern US copy.
Anyone have these issues and how can new ones be obtained without cost.
The company in Calif that distributed them said they have no
    responsibility.

Glad I read that before I ordered mine. Is it any better than their last
    release? Or about the same?

Re: NAVTEC problems with latest updates

Doesn't seem to be any better. Still seems to be at least 2 yeard
behind in adding new roads (at least for our area). I have sent e-mail
to NAVTEQ New York asking for an explanation. Also to Porsche and to
local Porsche dealers. No response from Navteq, None from Porsche and
dealer has no clue, suggested I use the old discs. Problem is the new
ones will program the system in the car and the old ones don't
unprogram it. (at least that is my experience)

Re: NAVTEC problems with latest updates

NAVTEC's reply - Thank you for contacting NAVTEQ. The current version
is 2004.1 (released August 2004). The version number is on the face of
the map discs. There is no download for map updates.
Since you purchased from the Clif Company, NAVTEQ would not be able to
replace the map CDs at no charge. Please contact the Clif Company to
    inquire about replacement.

My Question- Who is Clif Company (not on the internet) ? These were
sent to me when I bought the car. Still no answer...

Why not email them back and get contact information for the "CLIFF Company"

At the risk of being too simplistic, I dare to say that the reference to
the "Clif Company" should be interpreted as "...a California Company."
Thus, the name is generic and not specific enough to identify the actual
seller or distributor of the discs.

Did that. It is all automated. Also asked the Porsche dealer who
referred me to Porsche Atlanta who sent me back to Porsche dealer who
referred me again to Navtec. It's ring-aroound- the - rosy on this one.
I think I'll just buy another set and return them if they are not
    right. end of story.
