Mazda Miata: MX3 no go,, Fuel Pump?

any help would be great,, 92 MX3 . lots of spark, no gas,, I have power to
one wire at fuel pump. but there are 5 wires,, one being the ground, one
prob gauge,,, anyway,
any sure way to tell if pump is gone before buying a new one $$$, not sure
what else it could be..
